Filament Tracker App

Version V0.0.6

Spool Inventory is a free desktop app for keeping track of your 3D printer filament — how much you have, what's running low, and what it's costing you.

Add a spool once — material, color, brand, price, weight — and let the app do the rest. Every card shows a live gauge of what's left, with low-stock alerts you can customize per spool. Log usage after a print, or add inventory back when you restock. Track multiple printers, tag and organize however makes sense to you, and pull up a full history of every gram that's come and gone.

Version history

V0.0.6 — 2026-08-27

"Add inventory" button next to Log usage — restock or correct a spool without editing it
Settings tab: minimize to tray, launch on Windows startup, and sound effects — all off by default
Printer profiles — assign spools to a printer, and manage your printer list
Filter by tag or location, not just material
Print cost estimator on the main Inventory page — checks whether a spool has enough left for the print
Lifetime stats: total grams printed and spools finished, with a small celebration when one hits 0g
One-time welcome walkthrough — shows once for new installs, and once for existing users on their first open after this update
Paste a spool photo straight from the clipboard (Ctrl+V), now listed in the keyboard shortcuts
A warning if remaining is accidentally set higher than the spool's total weight
The "?" keyboard shortcuts button moved to the bottom of the screen, next to the + button
Backups (export/import) now include your printers and usage history, not just spools — old backup files still work too
Currency setting — pick from common symbols or type your own, applied everywhere prices show
Bigger Discord and unit-toggle buttons
A way to report bugs without Discord (links straight to GitHub Issues)
Undo button after logging usage or deleting a spool
Keyboard shortcuts: N for a new spool, / to jump to search
A "?" help button showing the keyboard shortcuts
A note clarifying 1000g = 1kg, since filament is sold by the kg but tracked here in grams
Tags, a location field, and an optional photo per spool
Changelog moved to its own tab, with the date each version actually went live
